Water Main Break Floods Basement in Brooklyn

Harris Water received an emergency call Wednesday afternoon after a fellow Brooklyn homeowner was experiencing what started as a slow water main leak into the basement of their two family home. The owner first attempted to have their internal plumber make a repair on the lead pipe which was leaking inside of the house. Not only is it illegal to repair a lead pipe, it is extremely risky as displayed in this scenario.

Harris Water arrived on site within 24 hours and opened the roadway to close the tap connection on the city main. Once the tap was closed, the water main leak stopped and Harris now began digging for the new copper pipe installation.

The entire water main installation was completed within six hours, resolving an emergency situation for another Brooklyn homeowner along with the security of never having to deal with their water main ever again.
